东堀村位于东肖街道东南部，距中心城市约14千米，交通便利。[1]村名原为东窟，取东坑、后窟两个自然村村名各一字而来，后演变为东堀，2007年更名为东堀。[1]村内有东肖水库与东肖森林公园，并有万亩生态公益林。2005年，龙岩市人民政府将东肖水库定为中心城市饮用水源保护区。[1]2023年12月，东堀村被命名为「2023年度福建省森林村庄」；2024年2月，被确定为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放前为白土镇辖地。解放初，此处先归东红区，后改隶东肖区，再入附城区。1957年并乡时划入东肖乡；1958年东肖公社以东窟为大队名；1960年曾由城郊公社东肖管理区代管；1961年回归东肖公社。1984年，这里改为东肖镇的东窟村委会；2007年才改名东堀。[1]
