西山村是西陂街道下辖的行政村，位于龙岩中心城市新区一带[2]。村名取自境内的西山。据博雅地名网所引明嘉靖《龙岩县志》，西山在县城以西约五里，山形如峨眉，因地处龙岩城西边而得名[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

清代这里称西山社，民国31年（1942年）改设乡级建制，解放初归西陈区西山村[1]。1957年撤区并乡后，这里归西陂乡管辖；此后经西陂公社、城关公社、城郊公社数次变动，1961年回到西陂公社，仍设西山大队[1]。1984年改设西山村委会，1992年冠以镇名称西陂镇西山村，2013年改为西陂街道西山村委会[1]。
