中街社区位于新罗区，由中城街道管辖，属主城区。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

社区位于市区中部。1949年至1953年间，这一带称中民街，因简称中街而沿用为社区名。[1]

1954年至1981年间，此地隶属城关公社，设中街大队；随后的数年里，它先改作农业大队的管理机构，再于1984年起改为村民委员会建制，直到1993年才转为居民委员会。2002年起称中街社区居民委员会。[1]

2021年1月，社区被命名为2020年度龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」；2023年1月，又被命名为2022年度同一称号。[1]
