中城街道是福建省龙岩市新罗区下辖的街道，位于新罗区的中心区域，辖12个社区，街道办事处驻虎岭。[2][4]

街道名称取自所在地处城区中心的位置。[4] 博雅地名网作1982年设中城街道办事处，百度百科则作1981年冬设立，二者不同，此处以博雅地名网为准。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明代，此地隶属铁石乡，地名在坊里，早先称作兴善里；清代到民国初年则分为所内坊和武安坊两个坊。[3]

1929年7月至1930年11月24日间，以及1932年4月10日至10月17日，这一带是城区苏维埃政府的管辖范围。之后，这里先后设过合作乡、合作镇，又并入新罗镇。[3]

龙州市时期，辖地分作武安、所内、西门三个村，次年改归附城区。1953年底并入城关镇，1958年改为城关公社所属，1979年时依旧隶属城关镇。[3]

1982年设中城街道办事处，下辖的居委会有虎岭、兴门、北门、北关、凤凰、岩心、团结，另含中街、西街两个大队。[2]

2021年1月，街道被命名为2020年度龙岩市「平安乡镇（街道）」；同年2月，入选福建省2018至2020年度省级文明村镇社区名单。2024年1月和2023年1月，又先后被命名为2023年度、2022年度龙岩市「平安乡镇（街道）」。[4]

街道面积1.86平方千米，位于市区中部。[2] 百度百科另载面积为2.1平方千米，两处数字不同，一并列出。[1]

人口民族[edit]

1987年的统计中，街道内非农业人口有31258人，全部人口则为37572人。[2] 2011年常住人口为6.8万人。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

中共红四军前敌委员会旧址位于街道内，原为明崇祯年间刑部左侍郎王命璿的府第，清光绪三十四年（1908年）重修，是二进三落的庭院式建筑。[5][6]

红四军在1929年6月第三次攻下龙岩城之后，把前敌委员会安置在这座宅院里，毛泽东当时也住在此处办公。1975年旧址改作龙岩县革命纪念馆；1991年4月17日，它被列为第三批福建省文物保护单位。[6][7]
