平寨社区位于龙岩市区东部，地名来源有不同的推测。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明嘉靖年间的《龙岩县志》记载，平在坊在东门外，俗称“寨”。明代已有人考证“平在”的来历，但没有结果。[1]

博雅地名网推测，“平在”可能由“平寨”音转而来；“平寨”或指宋代以前建在平地上的驻兵营地，因与山寨有别而得名。[1]

沿革[edit]

这一带此前划归城东居委会。平寨居委会成立于1982年；2002年1月，它改称平寨社区居民委员会。[1]

2022年度和2023年度，社区先后获龙岩市「平安村居（社区）」称号，分别于2023年1月和2024年1月公布。[1]
