川石乡是福建省南平市建瓯市东部的乡，东与政和县交界，南与东游镇、水源乡毗邻，乡人民政府驻凤冠社区。乡境内的松溪是全乡最大的河流。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

川石里的设置可上溯到北宋，元祐四年（1089年）划出川石里，隶属建安县。[1]

明代此地属永平乡，为其中的川石里。1913年川石里仍是东区永平乡的一部分，1935年划归东游区。[2]

1943年川石乡正式建立；1949年初它仍在东游区（四区）之内，到1952年另设川石区，编为十一区。[2]

1956年川石区撤销，改回乡建制，依旧归东游区管辖。1958年这里组建为英雄人民公社，1961年又改称川石人民公社。[2]

1984年3月撤销人民公社、重建乡政府，改为川石乡人民政府，驻地在川石村。[1][2]

2014年6月，环境保护部把「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」的称号授予本乡；2020年12月，福建省爱卫办给川石乡冠以「福建省卫生乡镇」的命名。[2]

地理环境[edit]

川石乡地处建瓯市东部，北与龙村乡接壤，西与东游镇相连，属亚热带季风气候，四季温暖潮湿。[1][3]

境内高山众多，500米以上者32座，其中6座超过1000米。主要河流有溪、玉溪、墩阳溪，松溪在境内流经约10公里，是全乡最大的河流。[3]

行政区域面积，百度百科载为267.17平方千米，博雅地名网载为约274.07平方千米，两处均未注年份。[1][2]

2019年末全乡户籍人口为25907人。[1]

经济[edit]

乡内以烤烟、锥栗、茶叶、毛竹和食用菌为主要产业，并发展特色养殖；山林中盛产杉、松、毛竹，另有樟木、楠木和多种中草药。[3]

名胜古迹[edit]

清代民居千柱厝位于川石村，因拥有千根立柱得名，是乡内保存较完整的古建筑群。[4]
