水源村是水源乡的集镇所在地，由水源、后山仔、霞山坪三个自然村组成，是全乡经济、文化和交通的中心。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名因水源较多而来。此前称水北，后改为水源村。[1]

此地先是东游四区的水北乡，之后改归川石十一区，仍用水北乡之名。1958年，水北公社组建水北大队；1980年，因邵武也有同名的水北乡，改称水源大队，1984年定为现名。[1]

文化[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月把水源村命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
