村名与当地地形有关：村子两侧是田垄，中间横着长布岭。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1980年，长布是敷锡大队下辖的一个小队；1981年划归玉山公社良种场管理，到1984年才设立村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年10月，长布村入选2022年度南平市「绿盈乡村」中级版村庄名单。[1]
