黄园村位于南雅镇西部，离镇所在地20公里。村东与房村村、仁墩村毗连，西与山安村及延平区茫荡镇一带接壤，北以顺昌县高阳乡为界，南面与延平区大横镇相连。[1][2]

村中的十二个自然村是：下黄园、上黄园、东桥、南山尾、新建、张坑、墈前、歧头垅、浆后、前堀、后窠与小坑，村民小组九个。2012年全村528户，2150人，其中男性1076人，女性1074人。[1][2]

总面积28574亩，林业用地28031亩，耕地2350亩，以水田为主。主要作物是水稻，经济林木有锥栗、柑桔和毛竹。[1][2]
