历史沿革[edit]
隋代已有汪、桑两姓迁居此地的记载，地名先后有汪桑街、璜溪、五双街、黄孙里等称呼，各书所载的先后次序并不一致。民国初年名为房村，到民国后期才与七道合为一体，定名房道。[1][2]
1958年设红专人民公社，1964年划归建西县，其后曾隶属顺昌县，1975年复归建瓯县。镇的设立年份各书所载不同：博雅地名网的概况页称1993年撤乡设镇，同一网站的镇页称1985年1月改为镇，百度百科所记时间则为1992年5月。[1][2][3]
地理环境[edit]
镇域位于武夷山脉东南侧，地形起伏较大，平均海拔428.2米，最高处931.6米，最低处198米。年均气温18.4℃，年降雨约1700毫米，无霜期约280天。[2]
辖区面积各书所载不同：博雅地名网作244.73平方千米，百度百科作243.23平方千米。[1][3]
人口民族[edit]
据百度百科，截至2019年末，镇内户籍人口为36960人。博雅地名网载1998年末人口35116人，其中畲族约357人。[1][3]
名胜古迹[edit]
镇西南的万木林自然保护区以中亚热带常绿阔叶林为保护重点，百度百科所记面积为189公顷[6]，博雅地名网概况页则作2896亩[2]。
太师杨荣木牌坊建于明代，是县一级的文物保护对象。[1]
2025年建瓯市政协提案办理报告提到，房道镇漈村有一处陈列，讲述福建省游击纵队第三支队驻扎的经过，展陈工作已经完成。[5]

博雅地名网与快懂百科都把明代政治家杨荣列为房道的历史人物，据百度百科，杨荣生于建宁府建安县，即今建瓯市。[1][4][7]
