玉溪村是吉阳镇西南部的行政村，离集镇约1公里，辖玉溪、玉坑、廖墩、山际4个自然村。村中的步月桥在闽北现存古桥中桥身最长。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

相传村前溪中有矾石钓台，石上留有古人钓璜的遗迹，溪因而名璜溪。后取靠山的玉屏山与前溪璜溪各一字，合称玉溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初村子属丰乐区吉阳镇；1954年设吉阳二区玉溪乡，1958年改为吉阳公社玉溪大队，1984年才定名玉溪村。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

步月桥是村中的古桥，博雅地名网称其为闽北现存古桥中桥长最长的一座。[2]

上世纪六十年代，村里曾组成一支由妇女独立承担的集体劳动队伍，称玉溪妇女耕山队，据载是福建省最早的同类组织。[2]

荣誉[edit]

玉溪村于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
