地名由来[edit]
村南原有水碓，村因此得名。[1]

村辖9个自然村，伍石即其中之一。[1]
伍石古民居[edit]
伍石自然村因伍石山庄的古建筑，在清末有「建瓯西出第一家」之称。[2]其中的古民居群多为清同治年间建造，占地面积较大。[2]2016年，伍石自然村被列入第四批「中国传统村落」名录。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，下碓村获福建省爱卫办评为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
