吴屯乡是福建省南平市武夷山市下辖的乡，距城关约25公里，境内多山地。[2]

地名取自吴姓族人在此屯居。[1] 1984年由人民公社改为乡，此后沿用至今。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，唐宋时这一带为新丰乡，并曾作温岭镇的治所。[1] 唐至清代称吴屯里，民国23年（1934）改称吴屯乡。[1]

宋代，乡人彭路、翁德舆先后考中特科状元。[1]

早年当地有彭、翁、吴、陈、岳五个大姓，各自聚居一村并以姓氏为村名，其中吴姓一族仕宦显赫，村落便称吴屯。[1]

1958年，吴屯与岚谷两个乡并入幸福人民公社；1961年底，幸福公社划分为吴屯、岚谷两个公社。[3] 1984年撤销人民公社，乡制恢复，乡名沿用至今。[3]

地理环境[edit]

山地占乡境的大部分：东面与上梅乡交界处的大王山海拔1554米，北部的主岭岗海拔1471米。[2] 吴屯溪是境内主要河流，属崇阳溪水系。[2]

乡域南与上梅乡接壤，西边邻接新丰街道办和洋庄乡，东北则与岚谷乡、浦城县为邻。[2]

经济与物产[edit]

境内以粮食作物为农业生产的主体，出产的特色物产包括香菇、笋干、草纸与顺太纸。[2]

文物与名胜[edit]

全乡有三处县级文物保护单位：街路村的瑞岩寺（清代）、上村的闽赣古驿道焦岭关遗址（宋代）、红园村的红园石拱桥（明至清）。[1]
