上梅乡位于武夷山市东部，东侧与浦城县石陂镇相接，南面是五夫镇与兴田镇，西边与武夷、新丰两个街道相邻，北面连着吴屯乡。乡政府驻下屯。[1][4]

1989年12月，下阳乡更名为上梅乡。北宋词人柳永少年时在本乡茶景村长大，乡内的上梅暴动遗址是1928年农民武装起义的旧址。[1][2][7][8]

历史沿革[edit]

这一片地方在宋元时归东乡管辖，其中一部分属上梅里，另一部分属外五夫里。清代雍正年间，它又并入五夫开耀乡。民国二十五年，此地归双梅乡管辖；民国三十二年，白水、双梅两地合为白梅乡。[5]

上梅乡这一名称始于1951年，由白梅乡改来。1954年，首阳乡从此分出。1958年人民公社设立，本乡划入乐园人民公社，该社后更名为五夫公社。1972年，部分村落自五夫公社划出，另设下阳人民公社。[5][6]

1984年9月，下阳人民公社改设为下阳乡。到1989年12月，福建省民政厅同意改名为上梅乡，乡界保持不变。[1][2][5]

1928年，徐履峻、陈耿等人领导上梅、下梅一带农民举行武装起义，即上梅暴动。起义后组织民众会，打土豪、破仓分粮。[8][9][10]

下屯村于1930年5月1日设立崇安县苏维埃政府，这是闽北最早的县级苏维埃机构。[3][7]

上梅乡在2021年度入选南平市「平安农机」示范乡镇，时间为2021年12月。[4]

地理环境[edit]

乡境北高南低，山峦起伏。大王峰为全乡最高点，高1554米；鹅子山则有1002米。[1][5]

关于面积，百度百科与快懂百科作231.97平方千米，2017年的在线访谈和博雅地名网作226.9平方公里，两种数字并未统一。[1][2][5][7]

截至2019年末，全乡在册户籍人口14843人。[1][2]

经济[edit]

2017年的一次在线访谈中，乡长说全乡有山林25.8万亩，其中竹山12.2万亩，另有耕地2.6万亩；他并称本乡属山多地少的地区。[7]

名胜古迹[edit]

上梅暴动遗址在后坜一带，遗址包含崇安县民众局旧址、中共崇安县委旧址等几处革命遗存。1961年，它被定为省级文物保护单位，属首批；2016年，它又被收入「全国红色旅游景点景区名录」。[8][9]

北宋词人柳永少年时在茶景村鹅子峰下长大，村中柳永故居遗址列为县级文物保护单位。[4][7]

据乡长2017年所述，翁屯村是闽北土改第一村，厅下村有汪林兴烈士故居。[7]
