武夷街道是南平市武夷山市辖下的一个街道，位于市域中部偏南：北面毗邻洋庄乡，西侧为星村镇，东侧与上梅乡相接，崇阳溪穿境而过。[2][3] 1994年至2003年间此地称武夷镇，2003年改设为街道。[3][4]

地理环境[edit]

境内以丘陵为主，约占三分之二，最高峰为芦峰，海拔927米。[3] 崇阳溪由南至北流经全境；东来的梅溪与北来的黄柏溪在角亭村会合，随后注入崇阳溪。[3]

辖区面积，百度百科载为240.1平方千米，博雅地名网载为233.4平方千米，两者均未注年份。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代至明代，此地隶属崇安县南乡。[1]

民国二十九年（1940年）设赤石实验乡，1951年归第一区；1954年与城关地区一并列入第一区，1956年并入第三区，组成赤石区。[3]

1958年人民公社化，原城关、武夷、洋庄三个乡镇合组为曙光公社，1960年曙光公社分出城关与武夷两个公社。[4]

1984年此地改为武夷乡，1994年撤乡设镇，称武夷镇。[3][4] 设立街道的日期，百度百科作2003年1月，博雅地名网作2003年元旦。[1][2]

百度百科所载的人口数为23043人，统计时点为2011年末。[1]

经济与旅游[edit]

武夷岩茶的一大产区就在街道之内。[3] 天心村九龙窠一带是「大红袍」茶树的原始母本所在地。[3][7]

清康熙、乾隆年间，下梅村曾为武夷山的茶叶集散地；村中保留清代古民居三十余座，2005年9月被认定为中国历史文化名村。[6]

文物古迹[edit]

竹林坑窑址位于黄柏村官埠头自然村西侧，属青铜时代的窑址群，2013年1月列入福建省第八批省级文物保护单位。[5] 据百度百科所述，该窑址出土的器物以原始青瓷为主，年代为西周早中期。[5]

荣誉[edit]

2022年，武夷街道获评福建省级森林康养小镇；认定工作由省森林康养评定委员会于同年10月作出。[2]
