大常村位于金坑乡东北部，东侧与南侧同和平镇为界，西边挨着重下村，北边与下堡村毗连。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名来自村中多粗大的常紫树林。[1]

1951年划为张坑乡地；1958年列入和平公社的张坑大队；1961年，张坑大队脱离和平公社，其中一部分另设大常大队，归入新设的金坑公社。1984年，该村改为村民委员会。[1]

2021年11月，村庄被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末登记167户、710人，全部为汉族，以张、官、李三姓为主。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

大常张氏家庙坐落村中，建于清代，列为县级文保单位。[1]
