下黄街村是金坑乡西北部的行政村，东邻湖溪村，南与桂林乡相连，西与江西省相接，北与金坑村毗邻。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村名来自村中黄姓居多，又因古时有商贸街市。[1]

明清时期，此地属昼锦下乡三十九都。民国时设黄街保，属金湖乡。[1]

建国后归第五区的湖汉乡，1958年并入湖汉大队，归和平公社；1961年脱离和平公社，改属新设的金坑公社；1979年自湖汉大队划出一块设下黄街大队；1984年起称村民委员会。[1]

2021年11月，村庄被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]

截至2011年末，本村住户159户，人口616人，皆为汉族，以黄姓为多。[1]
