村名由祝坪、板岭两个自然村的名字各取一字组成。[1]

地理环境[edit]

村子处在中亚热带季风区的湿润气候带，地面东北部偏高，向西南逐渐降低，以丘陵山地为主。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期此地归二十都管辖。[1] 1954年曾设板岭区公所；1958年，这里成为祝岭生产大队；1984年祝岭村委会成立。[1]
