竹源村在邵武市南部，属大埠岗镇，村部距市区约35公里。村子北面与宝积、李源两村交界，西边连着大埠岗村，东北与铁洋村相接，南与加洲村接壤。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村部所在的套竹林自然村周围多是毛竹林，村名由此而来。该自然村旧称「大竹坪」，始于唐代，由宁化迁来定居，后改称套竹林。[1][2]

村里的荣誉包括：2019年12月入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单；2020年11月，本村被收入南平市「绿盈乡村」中级版村庄名录（2020年度）。[2]

人口民族[edit]

2011年末辖区共432户，总人口1511人，另有流动人口810人。村内八个自然村为惠岭、谢源、杨家坊、张家坊、碓下、套竹林、妙源与墩上，分为12个村民小组。[2]
