水东社区位于街道「十里长街」的东段，是水北街道东部的一个社区，名称由此而来[2][4]。它的前身可追溯到1983年前属水北大队的一片土地，2000年由两个居委会合并组建，2002年改称社区居委会[2][3]。

历史沿革[edit]

大队的一部分地段划出后，设立了四板路居委会和聂家巷居委会，二者同归水北街道办事处管辖[3]。2000年两居委会并为水东居委会，但行政区划表写该年1月二者已被撤销，博雅地名网则说是6月合并[1][2]。2002年5月，居委会换名为水东社区居委会[2]。
