稠岭村位于乡域东部，处在鹫峰山脉余脉一带，省道302穿村而过，是外屯乡下辖的行政村，全村下辖12个自然村。[1][2]

村中有佛子山风景名胜区的部分景区，景观以狮峰与稠岭梯田为主。[3]

地名由来[edit]

村名原作“筹岭”。元明时期有盐道自此经过，这条盐道连接福安与浦城等县，地名因之而来。后来村子四周多为水田，遂改称稠岭。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明朝嘉靖年间（约1546年前后）梅姓人家在此开基，约1560年前后魏姓、张姓先后迁入。[2]

人口民族[edit]

村中以张、魏、高三姓为多，叶、李、曾等姓也有少量分布。[2]

地理环境[edit]

村域面积，博雅地名网作3.4万亩，百度百科作2.2万亩，两说并存。[2][3]

名胜古迹[edit]

佛子山风景名胜区的中心一带在稠岭村，景观包括狮峰、稠岭梯田，村中还留存有古柳杉。[2][3]

狮峰寺创建于清初，供奉三宝如来与陈公老佛。1979年村民集资重建，每年农历六月十四有进香活动。[2]

稠岭茶盐古道位于本村，博雅地名网载其年代为宋代，为县级文物保护单位；百度百科则称其为元明时期的茶盐古道，两说并存。[1][3]

荣誉[edit]

村子于2019年被收入第五批中国传统村落名录，2021年又获得福建省卫生村的称号。[3]
