外屯乡是福建省南平市政和县下辖的乡，位于县境中部，东边是澄源乡，南面与镇前镇相接，西面紧邻星溪乡，北面与铁山镇、岭腰乡为邻。全乡辖9个行政村，乡政府驻在外屯村。境内多山地丘陵，佛子山风景名胜区位于乡境之内，七星溪在此流过。[1][4][7]
历史沿革[edit]
外屯乡的建置始于1940年1月，当时设立外屯乡并隶属第二区。1944年秋撤区并乡后，乡名换成善化，治所依旧设在外屯。1952年外屯一度作为第六区的治所，1955年改归铁山区。1958年办起人民公社，经几次撤并，1969年外屯又设公社；1984年9月公社被撤，乡的建制得以恢复。[1][5]
地名由来[edit]
关于乡名的来历，政和县政府网站的乡概况称，因乡政府驻在外屯村而得名。博雅地名网与百度百科则追溯到宋神宗年间，当地魏姓人家在此定居，地名原称魏屯，后因方言中“魏”与“外”同音，改称外屯。[1][4][6]
地理环境[edit]
乡境位于鹫峰山脉北段西侧，山地与丘陵占大部分，东部高、西部低。境内最高峰上苏山在稠岭村一带，海拔1340米；最低点在车潭村附近的葡萄湾，海拔260米。七星溪是乡内主要河流，归入闽江水系，它发源于本乡，途经车潭、外屯、洋屯、湖屯和黄坑的村落。[1][7]
人口民族[edit]
2025年末，全乡公安户籍人口为13099人。[2] 百度百科另载2019年末户籍人口13902人，年份与口径均与前者不同，两者并列。[6]
行政区划[edit]
乡辖稠岭、车潭、湖屯、溪头、黄坑、外屯、吴场、洋屯和下坪九个行政村，另有一个乡办茶场。截至2024年末，全县124个建制村中，外屯乡占其中9个。[3]
经济[edit]
农业以水稻为主，兼产反季节蔬菜；茶叶、松脂、笋干和香菇也有出产，乡内还设有一个茶场。[4]
名胜古迹[edit]
佛子山风景名胜区位于外屯乡境内，景区内包括佛子岩、稠岭、梅子坑、七星峡谷和黄岭五处景区。景区于2009年获评国家级风景名胜区，此后于2011年获准建设国家地质公园；景区面积137.3平方千米，景点级别为国家4A级。[8]
洋后桥位于外屯村洋后自然村，横跨七星溪，是一座木结构廊桥。桥体现存部分的营建时间为清代道光年间的1850年，此桥于2013年1月被认定为「福建省第八批省级文物保护单位」。[9][10]
稠岭村的茶盐古道，博雅地名网载其年代为宋代，为县级文物保护单位；百度百科的稠岭村条则称其为元明时期的茶盐古道，两说并存。[4][11]
荣誉[edit]
外屯乡于2020年底获福建省爱卫办命名为「福建省卫生乡镇」。[4]
