湘源村位于政和县镇前镇南部，离镇政府约6公里，村中有东平王宝殿和张氏祠堂。[1]
地名与沿革[edit]
村名取互相帮助之意，又因村边有三条小溪交汇，故称湘源。[1]
民国末年此处为桃源保，归下庄乡管辖。1951年改设桃源乡，编入第二区；1958年成为湘源大队，1969年隶属镇前公社，1984年设立行政村。[1]
文化[edit]
据博雅地名网所载，村中的东平王宝殿与张氏祠堂两处建筑都已有100多年历史。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2022年12月，经福建省农业农村厅评定，湘源村为2022年度福建省「一村一品」专业村（辣椒）。[1]
