护田村在东平镇南部，松溪河穿村境而过，距县城关21公里，离镇政府所在地13公里。[1]

地名来历[edit]

此处原是一处小码头。因地势低洼，村庄常遭水患，而且人多地少，于是改名为护田，寓意护住农田。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国33年，此地设兴仁保，隶属东平镇。1958年成为护田大队，1969年起归东平公社管辖，1984年才改设行政村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，护田村被认定为「2021年度南平市“绿盈乡村”中级版村庄」。[1]
