元峰庄社区位于县城东南，处在星溪河以南，沿河畔延伸，并依山而建。[1]

社区名称取自其所在的元峰庄片区，社区居委会位于该片区而得名。[2]

1998年设立元峰庄居委会，2002年更名为元峰庄社区居民委员会。[3][1]

2017年至2018年间，社区先后获「全国综合减灾示范社区」「全市民主法治示范社区」等称号。[1]
