历史沿革[edit]
相传明朝中叶，郑仲山自南京迁来此地拓垦定居，村落因郑姓而得名郑墩。[2]
宋至道二年（996年）此地归善政乡杉溪里管辖，直到清末仍是如此。民国时期先划为杉溪区的一部分，其后又经花桥区与松源镇辖属。[3][4]
1941年，郑墩乡得以设立，仍归花桥区管辖。1949年9月，乡域分设为郑墩、梅口两乡。[3][4]
1956年起设郑墩区，1958年10月撤区，原地改设卫星公社；1966年8月，该公社更名为郑墩公社。[3][4][5]
1984年10月，政社分设后复为乡；1989年6月撤乡建镇。[3][4]
2014年6月，郑墩镇获环境保护部门认定，列为「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」。[2] 2024年4月，郑墩镇被纳入「第三批省级乡村振兴示范乡镇创建对象」名单。[2]
地理环境[edit]
镇境处于松溪县西南，松溪河在镇畔流过。镇辖面积的数字有两说：百度百科作173.5平方千米，博雅地名网与县民政人社局的地名文章作约180平方千米。[1][2][5]
全镇山地约21.5万亩，耕地（指水田）约2.1万亩，森林覆盖率为73.7%。蕴藏的矿物包括磷、铁、铅、锌、铜，还有花岗石和萤石。[5]
人口[edit]
2019年末户籍人口为22138人。[1] 县民政人社局的地名文章所载总人口约21570人，未注明年份。[5]
经济与物产[edit]
镇内以稻谷、茶和果为主要产出。博雅地名网列出的特产除九龙窑瓷器与湛卢宝剑外，还有松溪小角、松溪蒙丸、松溪薄饼和松溪红茶。[2] 双源村内有九龙大白茶的母树，该品种于1998年被确认为福建省级优异茶树品种。[5]
文化[edit]
民俗方面，镇内传承的非遗项目有「湛卢宝剑铸造技艺」与「松溪民间版画」。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
镇内的文物保护单位均为县级，分布在几个村。万前村的武举人府，府邸主人为清光绪年间的武举人王肇丰，院落占地约2664平方米，采用木质夯土结构。[5][6][7]
夙屯村有“龙津”摩崖石刻，时代为宋代。[7] 张屯村有陈坑冶铁遗址，时代为清代。[7] 陈戬墓在大濑山上，位于杉溪村的洋墩坪自然村以北，墓主陈戬为宋大观三年（1109年）进士。[7]
