东山村位于司前乡东南部，是司前乡的民族村之一。村名取“日出东山”之意，因村落地处山中。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

早先属永德里二十四都，民国时期为新甸区新甸乡的一部分。1950年仍归新甸乡，1952年改隶司前区新甸乡；1958年划入司前公社，设东山大队；1984年另设东山村民委员会，隶属司前乡。[1]

文化[edit]

2020年12月，东山村入选「2020年福建省森林村庄」名单。[1]
