历史沿革[edit]
村名中「砂」指沙子，「坪」指平坦的场地。村址地势平缓，又盛产沙子，故以此命名。[1]
村民祖先多从河南、江西、安徽等省迁来定居，繁衍至今历时逾900年。村民委员会于1984年设立。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
何家潭遗址位于何家自然村东侧的后山，占地超过30万平方米，文化层从新石器时代晚期延续到商周时期。该遗址于2021年冬季由考古队伍首次发现，2023年经发掘确认。[1][2]
砂坪遗址为县级文物保护单位，时代为青铜时代。[1]
