止马村是光泽县止马镇的行政村，镇人民政府驻地在本村，距县城约二十公里。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名与镇名同源。据博雅地名网，自唐宋起，此处就是闽西北通往江西的要道，设有驿站、驻守重兵，过境军旅和进京入闽的客商都在这里停宿，因而俗称「止马街」，地名由此而来。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时期，本村属归仁里十都。民国21年（1932年）划归第二区，1950年归止马区管辖，1958年并入英雄人民公社，1968年隶属止马人民公社，1980年隶属止马公社管委会。[1]

1984年改设止马村民委员会，隶属止马乡人民政府；1993年10月起隶属止马镇人民政府。[1]

地理与人口[edit]

村落面积11.6平方公里，下辖5个自然村、10个村民小组，有494户、1879人（博雅地名网，未注明年份）。[1][2]

水杉线横贯全村，去往江西黎川方向可上京福高速公路，路程约45公里。[2]

经济与设施[edit]

村里旧时有三日一次的墟市，市上设有边贸交易点。主要经济作物为茶、烟叶和药材。[2]

镇卫生院、中心完小和中学都设在本村。[2]
