中潭村位于古楼乡西北部，距乡政府约2公里，东面与仙阳镇永建村相邻，南面接古楼村。全村面积2.6平方千米，下辖12个自然村，是乡内企业较为集中的村。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名取自中墩的“中”字与洋潭桥的“潭”字。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时此地隶属古楼乡。解放初年（1951年）划入第六区古楼乡；1952年分出，另设中潭乡，仍归第六区；1958年转隶永兴公社，改称中潭大队；1961年改属古楼公社；1984年定为古楼乡中潭村村民委员会。[2]

革命历史[edit]

中潭村是老区革命基点村。这里曾是中共广浦县委与广浦县苏维埃政府的驻地。粟裕等革命前辈也曾途经此地并留宿。县政府的遗址旧址名录中，此处列为「郊洋-广浦县苏」。[1][3][4]

经济与资源[edit]

村中有丰富的毛竹资源，全村耕地986亩，山林12504亩。村内有细木工板厂二家、竹器厂五家、活性炭厂一家。[1]
