王元村是浦城县万安乡的行政村，位于县城南端，距县城约17公里，是万安乡最南端的村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网载，村前有南浦溪的水源流下，故称「王源」，后谐音写作王元。[1]

民国时期隶观前乡。1951年起先后归第三区、第十二区的西塅乡管辖；1958年属观前公社，1961年改隶西塅公社，并设王元大队；1963年回归观前公社，1966年划入莲塘公社，1972年转水南公社，1981年归万安公社，1984年设王元村村民委员会，隶万安乡。[1]

村中以种植水稻为主，其他经济作物较少。[1]
