中墩村位于九牧镇西北部，西面与江西一侧的七星水库相接，是镇内偏远的老区基点村。村中山地多、田地少，毛竹山与稻田并存。[1]
名称由来[edit]
村前有三座小墩，居中的一座紧挨着村子，村名即由此而来。[1][3]
历史沿革[edit]
1998年6月，中墩村村民委员会改属九牧镇。1984年，改称中墩村村民委员会，隶属九牧乡；1958年为九牧公社的中墩大队；1957年改属九牧区；1951年属第六区中潭乡；民国时属古楼中潭乡。[2]
