蒋坑村是九牧镇西部的行政村，位于镇区以西约3公里处，村域面积约12.76平方千米，海拔360米。村名与村子所在的山坑有关。[1]

名称由来[edit]

村子坐落在山坑之中，传说此地曾出过将军，因而得名。[1][3]

历史沿革[edit]

1998年6月，蒋坑村村民委员会改属九牧镇。在此之前，1984年改称蒋坑村村民委员会，隶属九牧乡；1958年为九牧公社的蒋坑大队；1952年属九牧区九墩乡；1951年属第八区九牧乡。[2]

地理环境[edit]

境内蕴有铅锌矿，毛竹多产，冬笋和春笋是村民收入的主要来源。九古公路穿村而过，村内道路已全部硬化。[1]
