名称由来[edit]
村名的来历有两种说法。博雅地名网载，古时此地有牧姓人家居住，先后有九人考中进士，因而有「九牧流芳」之誉，村名由此而来。[1] 浦城县人民政府网站的一篇文章则讲，唐代林披家的九个子嗣都担任过刺史，人称九牧林家，九牧村的名字即源于此。[5]
历史沿革[edit]
1998年6月，九牧村村民委员会改隶九牧镇。1984年，九牧乡改称九牧村村民委员会；1958年为九牧公社的九牧大队；1951年属第八区九牧乡，1952年改属第九区九牧乡；民国时称九牧乡。[4]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内高步亭自然村有梨岭关，是唐代古关隘，2009年列入第七批省级文物保护单位。[2][6][7]
文化[edit]
2023年2月，九牧村列入「福建省第三批高级版绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
