毛洋村位于忠信镇东端的边界上，东面连着浙江省龙泉市住龙镇，另与际洋、高溪、寨门、坑尾相接。村周围有五座山，山形似羊，山坡多长茅草，故称茅洋，后谐音写作毛洋。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代隶雁塘里，民国归游村乡，1951年归第九区柘溪乡，1956年改属仙阳区柘溪乡，1958年隶忠信公社，称柘溪生产大队。1960年11月另立毛洋大队，仍属忠信公社；1961年7月改隶游枫公社，1965年12月回归忠信公社。1984年起改为村民委员会建制。[1]

村子海拔780米，田少山多，经济以林业为主，同时出产食用菌。[1]
