水尾村是水北街镇西南部的行政村，与松溪县和濠村乡相邻，村名由来是村尾有一丘很大的田[1]。博雅地名网记全村人口690人（年份未注），下设4个自然村，村民小组7个[1]。村中以锥栗为特色产业，家家户户多有种植[1]。2020年11月，村庄入选「2020年度南平市绿盈乡村中级版村庄」名单[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属水北乡，1949年属第三区，1951年驻临江，1952年归第十三区，1958年属水北公社，1960年自原大队析出设水尾大队，隶属观前公社，1961年改属水北公社[1]。1981年起为水北街公社的水尾大队，1984年设村民委员会，1993年乡改镇后仍称水尾村村民委员会[1]。
