上山桥村是水北街镇东南部的老区村，与翁村、篷尾相邻，村名由来是村在上山桥边，以桥名取名[1]。博雅地名网记现村人口952人，共243户（年份未注），下设桐坑、兰坑、上尾3个自然村，村民小组11个[1][2]。

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属水北乡，1949年属第三区，1950年改属第三区驻临江的乡，1952年归第十三区，1956年改隶石陂区，1958年并入水北公社，1960年属观前公社，1963年单独设大队[1]。1981年起为水北街公社的上山桥大队，1984年设村民委员会，1993年乡改镇后仍称村民委员会[1]。
