太平村在仙阳镇南部，海拔260米，距县城约7公里，距镇驻地约5公里[1]。村名由地势平坦得来，早先属太平里第三图，故称太平三[1]。村子于2021年11月获福建省爱卫办授予「2021年福建省卫生村」称号[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

村地原为山头，西南两侧曾是湖泊，后成为南浦溪河道。因洪水，一部分人迁居此地，逐渐繁衍成村。村中主要姓氏有刘、季、张、黄、柯等[2]。宋代至清朝属太平里，民国期间属仙阳区（镇）；1950年设太平乡，后改为生产大队，1984年改为村民委员会[2]。

地理环境[edit]

1966年建成的引水工程流经本村，灌溉范围可达仙阳镇、南浦镇、莲塘镇、万安乡等地的稻田[2]。1975年，十八里至樟溪的公路通车，1976年在原下渡口建成石拱桥[2]。

文化[edit]

村西侧的十八里一带发现有商代遗址，说明这里很早就有人居住[2]。

荣誉[edit]

2024年6月，太平村入选福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡村名单[1]。
