源尾村是临江镇下辖的行政村，靠近通往山下乡的县道。村名源自一则传说：约六百年前，一位牧人的牛误入村中不肯出来，他拽住牛尾才将它赶出，「源尾」与「牛尾」音近。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时属临江镇。1950年代先后隶属临江乡和第三区，1956年改属临江镇，1958年设源尾大队，1984年设源尾村村民委员会。[3]
