紫竹村在高阳乡西面，离乡政府11.8公里，与大历镇立墩村、岚下乡东坑村为邻。村内的下科通天大圣祭坛为明代遗存，属县级文物。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村落附近曾有一片紫竹林，村名因此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放前此地称紫竹堡。1953年从花桥乡析出，设立紫竹乡，1956年又并回花桥乡。1961年，花桥乡的这部分单设为大队，归建瓯县房道公社管辖。1964年建西县设立，此地划入其高阳公社。建西县于1970年撤销，村改归顺昌县，仍属高阳公社。1984年成立村民委员会，隶属高阳乡。[1]

村内设5个村民小组，有232户，共971人。田地山林合计10070亩，其中毛竹山占4765亩，水田占806亩。[1]

经济[edit]

村民收入主要来自毛竹山的经营和劳动力输出，其次是果树与水田作物。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

下科通天大圣祭坛为明代遗存，已列为县级文物保护单位。[2]
