历史沿革[edit]
这里原名杨家坪。因临近仁寿溪，又因外来移民增多、形成杂居的聚落，才改称洋墩。[2]
明代此地属顺阳乡；清代归仁寿分县管辖，分为寿荣、田溪二都。[3][2]
1940年改设为镇，解放初属仁寿五区。1958年人民公社时期列入仁寿（跃进）分社，1961年成立洋墩人民公社；1984年撤销公社，改设乡，即今名。[2][3]
连墩村的洪地自然村是革命基点村，2001年被顺昌县政府命名为「顺昌县首批爱国主义教育基地」。[1]
地理环境[edit]
全乡土地面积134平方千米，约合20.1万亩。地形如展开的蝴蝶，两翼山地较高，中间地势较低；全乡最高处位于秀溪村，海拔552米；最低处在路马头村，海拔177米。[1]
境内山峰有莲花峰与郭岩山。莲花峰海拔907米，在江村；郭岩山的主峰高1383.7米，在全县居首，山体横跨洋墩与岚下两乡之间，与建阳、建瓯两地接壤。[1]
仁寿溪原名顺阳溪，源头在建阳与顺昌交界处的华家山，流经乡内约9千米。江村溪发端于连墩村的葫芦山；田溪河与秀溪河则分别从郭源、洋坑一带以及秀溪村生出，三条溪最终都注入仁寿溪。[1]
气候属中亚热带海洋性季风气候，年平均气温18.5摄氏度，无霜期310天，年雨量1736.2毫米，日照1523小时。冬季短而夏季长，春季多倒春寒，秋天常有小阳春。[1]
乡政府离县城38公里；316国道在约20公里外的南面，京台高速徐市开口则在北面35公里处。[1]

据顺昌县人民政府网站，全乡共2910户，总人口10794人。[1]
经济[edit]
柑橘是全乡的主要产业，种植柑桔1.8万亩，享有「柑桔之乡」的美誉。[1]
农业部于2015年8月把洋墩乡列为第五批「全国一村一品示范村镇」，报送的产品是顺昌芦柑。[1][2]
林地16.88万亩，其中竹林3.95万亩，森林覆盖率81.8%，是县内的重点林乡之一。[1]
农副产品有莲子、笋干、木耳、板栗、香菇、竹荪和姬松茸。矿产有萤石、煤、花岗石、银、铜和铝锌，另在蔡坑村东南约1.7千米处有一片黑钨矿重砂异常区，面积较大。[1]
洋墩村是乡里的集镇所在，每逢农历二、七日为墟日。[1]
