坊上村在埔上镇内，全村土地总面积4603.7亩。村子因开垦而建，“荒”与“坊”在当地方言中同音，村名由此而来。[1]

村内有坊上、雄鸡斗和靠近316国道的新村共3个自然村，村民小组3个。2009年，全村人口为476人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时村子属大干镇，解放后属张墩乡；1950年归大干乡，1958年坊上单设大队，归大干公社；1961年改隶埔上公社；1970年与张墩大队合并。1974年又从张墩大队分出，设坊上良种场；1980年良种场撤销，改为坊上大队；1984年起称坊上村民委员会。[1]
