元坑镇位于福建省南平市顺昌县西南部，西面与三明市将乐县相邻。镇境多丘陵山地，村庄沿溪流两岸分布，金溪与蛟溪在镇内穿过。全镇辖一个社区和十三个行政村。[2][3]镇上旧存明清时期的民居、宗祠与古桥，2010年入选「第五批中国历史文化名镇」。[3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

据元坑镇政府网站，三国东吴永安三年（260年）此地已设有“乡”的建制。北宋熙宁三年（1070年）以前，地属剑浦县的交溪乡；此后改隶顺昌。民国时期属顺昌县第一区。[3][5]

1951年至1955年，元坑为顺昌县第四区，1956年改称福秀区；1958年撤区，设元坑乡。同年10月成立顺昌人民公社，元坑为其中的福秀分社；1959年改称红旗人民公社，下设元坑、郑坊、谟武三个管理区。1961年7月郑坊与谟武另设公社，1966年谟武公社并回元坑。1984年由公社改为乡，1992年8月撤乡设镇，此后未再变动。[3][5]

地理环境[edit]

镇域东西宽约16公里，南北长约23公里，总面积170.76平方千米。大部分地区属低丘温暖区，海拔多在300米以下，年均气温18℃至18.9℃，雨量充沛。全镇大小水库4座。[3][4]

金溪与蛟溪为闽江上游的源流，穿境而过。镇内矿产有石灰石、石英石，以及硫、铁、铜、铅、稀土等。京福高速公路连接线与204省道横贯全境，村村通水泥路。[3]

人口与行政区划[edit]

截至2019年末，镇域户籍人口为15523人。[1]

元坑镇政府网站称，镇内共有92个村民小组和18个自然村。镇政府驻地所在的村有四个：福峰、秀水、东郊与九村。博雅地名网所列的自然村数目与此不同，此处以政府网站为准。[3][4]

经济[edit]

元坑的农业以果蔬为主：秀水的大棚草莓、洋坊的早芋、福峰的吊瓜，以及荸荠、西红柿和柑橘，都是镇里的特色产品。[3]

镇内设有谟武工业园区，集中了以木材和竹木制品加工为主的企业。[3]

文化[edit]

据元坑镇政府网站，宋代理学家杨时、游酢和朱熹都曾在元坑讲学授徒，朱熹的门人廖德明与宋代官员廖刚也与此地有关。宋至清代，元坑一共出过六十多名进士。[3][6]

镇内至今尚存二百多座明清时期的古民居，七座保存完整的古宗祠，三条古廊桥，另有古井、古道、古亭、古码头等遗迹。各姓多建祠堂纪念先祖，其中有吴、蔡、朱、张、邓、陈、叶等姓的祠堂。[3][6]

民间流传着通天大圣的故事：传说某年大旱，通天大圣奉命上天求雨，却误将圣水倾倒，致使大水成灾；玉皇因此命他镇守高山与田洋，遇旱涝即行禀报。当地于是在山头设神坛求雨，在田洋设神坛防涝，“通天爷”“通天洋”之名由此而来。[7]

名胜古迹[edit]

元坑陈氏民居位于东郊村，为清代建筑群，占地4718.76平方米，封火墙内并列六栋合院，2009年列为福建省文物保护单位。[9][10]

演山在元坑镇境内，与宝庄村隔山相对。山上有石达开部下所凿的古栈道，宋代杨时、朱熹等人也曾到此留下足迹。[8]

博雅地名网列有廖德明墓，为宋代遗迹，已公布为县级文物保护单位。[6]

荣誉[edit]

2010年元坑镇入选「第五批中国历史文化名镇」；元坑镇于2020年末获「福建省卫生乡镇」称号，命名单位为省爱卫办。[6][11]
