沙墩村是洋口镇下辖的行政村，村子沿富屯溪而建，地势平坦，有316国道从境内穿过，水陆交通条件较好。全村有6个村民小组。村名的来历有两种说法：博雅地名网记为河中曾有一大片沙洲，故名；该网站正文又引述村中所传，因山坡光秃、少雨多旱而取名沙墩。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

沙墩曾在1954年改设为沙墩乡，归顺昌第二区。1958年，乡改为沙墩大队，隶属洋口公社；1984年，大队改设为沙墩村民委员会，归洋口镇管辖。[1]

1933年，东方军部分人员和部队从潜口、沙墩一带南渡富屯溪，进驻洋口。[2]

1949年6月村庄解放，同年9月建立村民政府；1951年完成土地改革，并成立乡政府。[1]
