地名由来[edit]
村中原居民多为余姓，故名余坊。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村庄海拔120米，总面积1.52平方千米。山林地914亩，耕地633亩，其中鱼塘96亩、菜地537亩。村后背靠龙山，古称庵山、塔山。这里是富屯溪洪水冲积形成的三大三角洲之一（另两处为来布、沙墩）。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
据载，五代后唐长兴四年（933年）顺昌建县时，村落便已形成。1949年6月23日，余坊获得解放。1984年余坊大队变为余坊村村民委员会，隶双溪镇。2006年5月，水南与双溪两镇合为双溪街道，村归其管辖。[1][2]
农业[edit]
村里历代以经济作物为主，甘蔗、西瓜、大豆与花生的品质较好。1965年余坊成为县副食品基地，此后蔬菜的种植面积逐步扩大，四季都有出产。[2]
人口[edit]
2012年，全村有5个村民小组，346户、1246人。[2]
