历史沿革[edit]
1984年改设祝中村村民委员会，沿用至今；1983年前为祝中大队。1974年设有小湖公社良种场。[2]
1956年此地归建阳县，1949年隶属小湖区；1940年划入水吉县，那时定名祝中村；1913年属建瓯县水吉北区的小湖乡。[2]
经济[edit]
村民以种植甘蔗（用于榨糖）、食用菌等为主要收入。2020年12月，村庄入选「2020年度福建省一村一品示范村」（红糖）名单。[2]
文化[edit]
村中延续了百余年的传统榨糖工艺，在南平市与建阳区两级被列为非物质文化遗产。[1]
省农业农村厅在2022年10月将祝中村列为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」，2025年3月村庄又被认定为「福建省第一批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[2]
