塘楼村位于小湖镇东南方向约1.5公里。村名的来由是旧时村中鱼塘众多，有的房屋筑在塘水之上，故称塘楼。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1984年改设塘楼村村民委员会，沿用至今；1958年以后称塘楼大队。1956年划归建阳县。[1]
1944年此地设为塘楼保，仍归小湖乡管。再往前，1940年隶属水吉县，1913年为建瓯县禾义里小湖乡的一部分。[1]
