地名由来[edit]
村子临南浦溪，旧时沿岸有五处渡船码头，常有船只停靠过夜，因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地在1949年后先归水吉县第一区的郑墩乡，1951年改入五区的池中乡。1958年并入池中大队，1961年成为池中公社下的渡船头大队，1963年又回到水吉公社。1984年改设村民委员会。[1]1998年遭遇洪灾，村部迁到塔下新村。[1]

2012年，全村的经济总收入为359.65万元。[1]经济作物以粮食、西瓜、葡萄为主。[1]村民的人均收入为8028元。[1]
