概况[edit]
全村面积21.01平方公里，计361户、人口1544人，共3个自然村、10个村民小组[3]。村北邻留田村，西连梁墩村，东南与莒口镇湖桥村接壤[2]。
古村与民居[edit]
村中留有清代古民居一座，占地约1亩，其中有36个天井，并以「三雕」装饰著称[3]。村落建筑呈锅形，巷道纵横如八卦网状；旧时各村口设有大门，关门即可阻挡盗匪进村[3]。村中还有龙舞、庙会等习俗[3]。
历史沿革[edit]
竹洲村旧属永忠里。清康熙年间，潘、颜、吴三姓从泉州永春迁居此地，繁衍至今[3]。解放前为永忠里下的竹洲保，新中国成立后归梁墩乡；1958年隶属麻沙公社并称竹洲大队，1984年起设竹洲村村民委员会[2]。
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，竹洲村列入福建省爱卫办公布的「2021年福建省卫生村」名单；2023年12月，竹洲村获「2023年度福建省森林村庄」称号[2]。
