麻沙社区是建阳区麻沙镇的中心区社区，1969年成立，名称一直沿用至今[1][2]。社区名称源自宋代此地多种麻的情形[2]。

社区面积约1.8平方公里，总户数2139户，人口4860人，区内有三条街、五条路和九条巷[2]。社区设一个党支部，有党员18名，另设居委会一个，下辖五个居民小组[2]。
